Qubitunes FAQs

  • It seems like magic, right?! The Qubitunes play stage and blocks use RFID tags embedded in the wood. RFID is a wireless communication technology, similar to how contactless payment works. Just like a credit card’s hidden tag communicates with a terminal, Qubitunes uses RFID to connect the play stage with the blocks, enabling seamless, invisible reading of the sounds coded into the tags. Isn’t that cool?
  • Check that you haven’t placed a block right in the very middle where the four play stage quadrants meet. Qubitunes is smart but only stack the blocks 2 high to make sure all of them are read correctly.
  • Place the conductor on stage to take the musicians from warming up to playing.
  • When Qubitunes is telling you a story from The Groblies it will play to the end. To change to a new story press and hold the left button to go back to the main menu.
  • Amazing, you’re well on your way to becoming an awesome musician. On Sampler Yo use the left hand dial to advance the music track to a different part of the melody. On The Jamming Tour Band and Little Maestro use the same dial to choose a different music genre or piece of music.
  • Qubitunes works hard and needs some time to restore. It should take your play stage 4 hours to recharge. The LED light will turn off when Qubitunes is fully charged.
  • The first time you use Qubitunes you need to connect to Wi-Fi to get the play stage set-up. Download the Qubitunes app on your iOS or Android phone and connect your Qubitunes to Wi-Fi by following the app prompts. Select your language and wait for your play stage to update to the latest software. When the play stage is on, connected to the charging cable and no game cartridge is inserted for 30 seconds then Qubitunes will automatically update.
  • Make sure your phone has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned ON and that your Qubitunes is not far from your Wi-Fi router. Also make sure that your router is connected to the internet and pay attention to entering the correct Wi-Fi password in the app.
  • Make sure you’ve turned on “Maximise Compatibility” in your Personal Hotspot settings.
  • Check that your router offers a 2.4GHz access point. Qubitunes is not 5GHz compatible.
  • No, that’s just confusing – poor Qubitunes. You need to match the correct game cartridge with the corresponding blocks.
